EMPOWERMENT WORKSHOPS
FOR 8 to 10 year old GIRLS:

INSPIRATIONAL WOMEN SERIES

First Workshop: Isabella Steward Gardener, Art for Everyone and Philanthropist

Date: Sunday, October 22, 2017
Time: 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Location: Emerson Wellness Center for Mind & Body, 310 Baker Ave., West Concord
Cost: $115, includes program, museum, transportation, supplies and lunch ($5 discount for previous GP participant and siblings, call 978-287-3777 for discount)

In GirlPower! Be Who You Are™ workshops, we discover fun and creative ways to move and express feelings, discover strengths, make connections with other girls and explore ways to add zest and vitality in life. Regardless of the stage of prepubescence or adolescence girls are in, they need a safe place to talk and express, both through words and movement, and experiential learning. This year's theme, "Inspirational Women" explores the lives of women who have made a difference, who overcame challenges and influenced society. This full-day workshop will explore the life of Isabella Stewart Gardner, philanthropist and art lover. Includes a tour of the Isabella Gardner Museum in Boston, an urban hike through part of the iconic “Emerald Necklance”, journaling, sketching, creative movement, supplies, lunch and transportation.

GirlPower! Be Who You Are™ Custom Individual and Group Sessions
(Scouts, School groups, Friends, Clubs)

These GirlPower!™ sessions are designed for after school and weekends, to mentor and guide girls with healthy mind-body activities including expressive movement, journaling, discussion, art and life skills in order to empower and instill self-confidence.

*GirlPower: A Positive Growth Experience for Girls Coming of Age, ages 10 to 14, Summer day program.
GirlPower! empowers tweens and teens with the ability to make healthy choices and the self- knowledge to build their confidence and overall sense of wellbeing. I have designed programming that introduces strong women role models and parenting experts that will enhance the mission of GirlPower!, and provides girls and their parents the opportunity to positively reinforce these skills to benefit them throughout the year and in everyday life. *GirlPower, Empowering Girls by Exploring the Wild: A 3 Day Hut Trek to Zealand Falls, Wilderness 101 for 10 to 14 year olds. A wilderness program that includes gentle hiking in the White Mountains, learning outdoor and survival skills, as well as self-care activities such as yoga, journaling, discussion, art, and relaxation techniques. Experience enhances self-confidence through physical challenges that stress teamwork and independence. Read more here...

*Youth Nia®  A dance cardio fitness class that also teaches body awareness and joy of movement. Nia integrates dance arts, healing arts and martial arts for a holistic body workout. Learn about Nia® at www.nianow.com.

*Yoga and Pilates for middle school and high school students is designed to strengthen, condition, relax and restore growing bodies. The program has been offered for several years at area middle and high schools.
